Low-carb, delicious Thanksgiving menu with a printable shopping list!

I LOVE Thanksgiving. I actually, honestly, love hosting Thanksgiving at my house because I get to keep all the leftovers

because we start decorating for Christmas the second Thanksgiving is over

because we've started some new family traditions that we are really enjoying (that sounds better, doesn't it?).

This year, since I have total menu control (read: no one else to help me with the cooking), we are having a Trim Healthy Mama Thanksgiving. A good one. I am making an amazing turkey recipe that I've made before, delicious sides, and thirty-five desserts (not really, it just feels that way). This is an “S” or low-carb meal, but be aware that there ARE small amounts of carbs, which can stack up. If you eat TONS of this food, you may end up in S Helper territory – which is totally fine, and still a part of the Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle. If, however, you decide to go off-plan, you can always use my Cheat Recovery Meal Plan to get back on track on Friday!

Here is my Thanksgiving Menu with a free printable shopping list. This is what the menu looks like, but to get the clickable links and see the recipes you'll need to download the PDF with the blue “Download” button at the bottom of this post. That's where you'll get the printable version.

**Note – the turkey recipe linked calls for brown sugar, and I substitute Just Like Brown Sugar, or just omit it entirely. It's tasted great to me both ways BUT I know that as the centerpiece of the meal you want to be extra careful and may not be comfortable with substitutions. You can always substitute a family favorite turkey recipe or any other turkey recipe that doesn't call for sugar.

If you need low-carb sweeteners or baking blend, you can get those at the here:

THM Baking Blend

THM Gentle Sweet

The shopping list is a little different from my normal monthly shopping lists – I listed the ingredients by meal instead of ingredient type/aisle because I know some people have family favorite recipes they will want to substitute for the recipes listed here. I hope that makes it easier for you.  Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Hi Jen,
I downloaded the pages as instructed but can’t find the actual recipes. Am I missing something?

    1. Hi Kelly! The PDF is clickable, so all of the recipes are linked into the menu. If you click on the recipe name or item on the menu, it will take you to the recipe. 🙂

      1. The pumpkin bread recipe is incomplete? How much Baking Blend, salt, baking soda, baking powder, spices?

        1. Hi Nancy! You can click on each recipe name on the menu to get to the recipe and see the exact amounts (you’ll need the full recipe anyway). The staples listed on the shopping list are a guide, not the full recipe, to help make shopping easier. I hope that helps! Thanks!

  2. So by signing up, will email clever each months new plans and grocery lists in our email?
Also, are all your recipes kosher?

      1. Hi Sarah! Yes, you get each month’s menu when you sign up. I try not to email everyone too much because I hate getting tons of email from bloggers. 🙂

  3. Thank you so much Jen, this is fantastic! Even though we already had Thanksgiving in Canada, I will try most of the recipes!
    Cheers,
    Sigi

  4. Jen,
Thank you for this menu! It is a life saver and very much appreciated. I especially like the shopping list broken down by menu item. Any chance of incorporating that in your monthly menu?

    Blessings

    1. Hi Sasha! I’ve considered it, but it would make a 15-page-long shopping list, at least. I may try to do it with a smaller weekly menu and see how it goes. Thanks for the feedback!

  5. Thanks so much for posting early. From your menu and recipes we are going to enjoy on Thanksgiving.
    Sweet Pumpkin Casserole
    Cranberry Sauce
    Dinner Rolls
    Chocolate Fudge Crumb Bars

Looking forward to GF Cornbread Dressing, Pumpkin Pie, and the Gravy which I purchased the ingredients for but will be enjoying after Thanksgiving since we are each sharing in providing the Thanksgiving meal.
    Happy Thanksgiving

    1. Connie, thanks for commenting! I’d love to hear how it turned out! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

      1. Your menu and guidance thru Thanksgiving preparation was wonderful. The menu items we enjoyed on Thanksgiving were all a great success except the dinner rolls??. They flopped. Four grands assisted with shopping and the lists helped us ‘almost’ breeze thru Heavy holiday shopping.
The CHOCOLATE FUDGE CRUMB BARS were cut into a day early and enjoyed to the last crumb on Thanksgiving. My daughter’s and my favorite the SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE. Four grandchildren helped with pre-Thanksgiving preparation and then all eight pitched in helping on Thanksgiving.

  6. I made the pumpkin bread the other night to try before Thanksgiving. Well, let me just say it must have been amazing because when I came into to kitchen after it had time to cool—-It was GONE!!! I got one very small crumb. I guess it is good enough to take to my none THM family 🙂

    1. I’m so glad your family liked it!!! It’s a favorite around here. 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to let me know!
