Your guide to very last-minute Christmas gifts!

If you need a last minute gift idea, this post is for you!

Blame it on my crazy schedule…or all of these kids…or just ME…but I always forget someone at Christmas. Often it's that awkward moment when a friend from out of town mentions that they dropped a gift for us in the mail…or a family member backtracks and accepts a previously issued Christmas invitation…whatever it is, I always need to come up with something at the last minute for someone I love and appreciate, but forgot to get a gift for!

I am one of those people who shops for Christmas throughout the year. I frequently buy clearance toys and gifts and keep them stored for future use. Of course, I match the gift to the recipient. One of my favorite finds was an “Olivia” Nickelodeon backpack from Target's back to school clearance for 75% off…just $4! Aside from excellent Christmas gifts, those types of gifts are great to have on hand for kids' birthday parties.

This year, I put together a quick gift guide with a few suggestions for those last minute, oops-I-forgot-someone gifts. Or the I-haven't-been-able-find-anything-yet gifts.

So, much like people like to classify themselves as the “haves” and “have nots”, I'm going to give you ideas if you're like me and…um, have it not. By have it not, I mean a bazillion dollars to pay for last minute shipping on other websites. Many of these are instant gifts that you can print from the comfort of your own home. Others will arrive quickly with Amazon Prime, if you have it! (If not, you can always sign up for a free trial).

For Busy Moms:365: One Year of Healthy Meal Plans for Busy Families

The gift of TIME! 365: One Year of Healthy Meal Plans for Busy Families includes one full year of meal plans with weekly and monthly shopping lists, prep ahead instructions, and tons more. Imagine not needing to meal plan for a whole year (or longer, because these monthly meal plans are reusable)! If you buy the PDF and give it as a gift, you can download a free printable card to use if you're giving this digital gift – that way you'll have something tangible to give. You can even choose to send the download email for the book on Christmas Day, or whatever day you're exchanging gifts! Printable Gift Card

One of my FAVORITE finds this year was the Money Saving Mom's Makeover Your Mornings e-course. This has changed my life, and I know it can work for everybody! This course gives you the tools you need to get things done without losing time with your family. Since I completed this course, my productivity levels have gone through the roof, my house has been cleaner, and I've actually been getting enough sleep (well, when I don't have a sick kid…or a crying baby…or a dog that gets up and gets into the trash…you get the idea).

Trim Healthy Table is the BEST way to gently introduce a friend or family member to Trim Healthy Mama, because it's a cookbook! Even better, it's a cookbook with a very brief introduction to the THM plan at the beginning – and in fact, it's the best, most concise explanation I've found. I highly recommend this one! (and not just because one of my recipes is printed in it…page 405 if you want to check for yourself!)

There are TONS of gift certificates available online, too. For a really luxurious gift for a busy mom you could go for a spafinder.com gift certificate, or lush.com for amazing soaps, bath melts, and bath bombs.

Restaurant gift certificates are also easy to buy online and often printable, and work well for men or women.

My husband likes gift certificates from Art of Shaving or UncommonGoods.com. And of course, almost everyone will like gift certificates from Amazon and Target.

For Kids:

My kids get four gifts each at Christmas – one thing they want, one thing they need, one thing to wear, and one thing to read. These are the ACTUAL items I'm buying for my kids this year, so if you know them in real life, please don't say anything:

Want –

Girls:

Boys:

Need:

I usually give the kids new toiletries, items they need for school, or other things they really need.

Wear:

Each of my kids get a new pair of pajamas every year – it's a family tradition.

Read – this is my favorite! These are the books I chose for the kids this year:

Lessons: karate lessons, music lessons, archery lessons…there are tons of options available, and most kids would be thrilled with the chance to learn a new skill. This is a quick buy, because you can find a place in your area, call to pay, and often print something from the company's website. Of course, if you're buying this as a gift for someone else's kids you'll want to make sure that the parents are OK with it!

Museum memberships, zoo memberships, children's play area memberships, etc. A family member bought a year's membership to the zoo for us once, and it was the best gift ever! We made so many memories and had such a great time that year, and they bought it online and printed the membership form for us to open in a card. We loved it!

Well, that's it! Just a few ideas to (hopefully) help you with any last minute gift ideas you may need. Merry Christmas!
